Algebra

Algebra is the language the rest of high school mathematics is written in. It covers simplifying expressions, working with exponents, factorising, algebraic fractions, and solving equations and inequalities. Because algebra appears inside every other topic — you cannot do functions, calculus or even trigonometry without it — examiners test it both directly and indirectly, and fluency here lifts marks across the whole paper.
