Term 1

Term 1 of the CAPS Grade 9 year covers: Whole numbers (the real number system, multiples and factors, ratio, rate and proportion, financial maths), integers, exponents (including scientific notation), numeric and geometric patterns, functions and relationships, and an introduction to algebraic expressions. Common and decimal fractions are used throughout.

The tests and examinations below assess this work, each paired with its memorandum where available. Write the paper under timed conditions before looking at the memo, mark yourself honestly, and redo the questions you lost marks on a few days later — that second attempt is where the learning happens.
