- 1Add the parts: 3 + 5 = 8.This is how many equal shares the amount is split into.
- 2Find one share: R240 ÷ 8 = R30.Divide the total by the number of parts.
- 3Multiply out: 3 × R30 = R90 and 5 × R30 = R150.R90 + R150 = R240 ✓
