- 1Find the LCD of 3 and 4, which is 12.12 is the smallest number both 3 and 4 divide into.
- 2Rewrite each fraction over 12: ⅔ = 8⁄12 and ¼ = 3⁄12.Multiply top and bottom by the same value.
- 3Add the numerators: 8⁄12 + 3⁄12 = 11⁄12.Once denominators match, add the tops only.
